decoThankful for………

Over the weekend, I went to visit my Pop in the hospital.  He is 78, 6’6″, and he fell and broke his hip recently.  I again realized how “thankful” I am for all the years I have had this wonderful man’s strong, supportive,  and, humorous presence in my life!  The prognosis is not encouraging, he isn’t responding to treatment after surgery.  For the umpteenth time, in the last 2 weeks, I am reminded of all the non-tangible, extremely awesome relationships and important things in our lives we forget to give thanks for.  This has been a season so far of reflection as well as thanks!

Before I left, I finished the base coating of my pots and watering can.  I am even more inspired to have this finished and on my mantel toots sweet.  As I have before, I sponged on four different hues of brown and terracotta.  This process always give me an even, brush free surface.

So I have my work cut out for me this week.  Let see what I get accomplished for tomorrow!   Give the ones you love a huge hug today!  Cyn

About designbycyn

Sonoma County, California ceramic enthusiasts Cyn and Steven Gradek have worked in the clay medium since 1996. They had a retail store where they held classes and provided the essentials for fellow ceramic enthusiasts. The business evolved into producing for other retail outlets and artist. Which quickly grew and they closed the retail storefront and concentrated on the wholesale business. With their 3 children raised and on their own, they had time to pursue their own creativity. Cyn learned how to embroider from her Grandma Cirner at a young age. After that she found sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, well you get the jist, LOL. She hasn't met a craft that she hasn't liked. Blogging was suggested by her youngest daughter, Colleen. At first it was a battle to get her to try it, but eventually Cyn started to enjoy the exercise. The blog on Cyn's website designbycyn.com was limiting, so Colleen got her started with Wordpress. Hope you enjoy her Adventures with Creativity!
