Layout, stick, and grout……

Imagination!  Your gonna need it today, okay?  Yes siree, imagination is the word for today!  The Disney experiment has now reached critical, we shall see if the vision I had when I started comes together.  As I usually do, I took a photo of the design laid out so I can re-place the pieces after I lay down the adhesive.  Don’t scroll down yet! Cheaters, lol. You first have to imagine that you are looking at Cinderella’s castle in the distance…….. have you got that yet.  Okay, close your eyes and concentrate.  As you are gazing, a bunch of balloons fill the air!  Mickey, Minnie, and friends are bobbing in the air…….

Did I say to open you eyes yet!  Nooooooo….  You are so excited to be in Disneyland, in the background there is music playing “When You Wish Upon A Star”, little children are giggling, adults are just so enchanted with their kids reactions, this day will create lifelong memories you will cherish and you are ready for it all to begin!  THAT is how I saw this bench in my mind, a little “Pollyanna”? Yeah, definitely, I am a sap for sure!

Now, take a look……

Shamus and I decided that white string might not show up so I have a back up plan for black mosaics to fill in the strings if necessary.  The mosaics will all be varying blues for the sky full of balloons.

Okay, I can see where some of you might not be able to envision my ultimate goal.  So, stay tuned the tedious work of filling in the design has started.  After that you can let me know if you can feel the “Disney” in this bench.  Oh, but make sure you have some music ready to play while you check it out! Got to have the whole package to get the vibe, lol.

Now to see if our recipient will like it………. Cyn

About designbycyn

Sonoma County, California ceramic enthusiasts Cyn and Steven Gradek have worked in the clay medium since 1996. They had a retail store where they held classes and provided the essentials for fellow ceramic enthusiasts. The business evolved into producing for other retail outlets and artist. Which quickly grew and they closed the retail storefront and concentrated on the wholesale business. With their 3 children raised and on their own, they had time to pursue their own creativity. Cyn learned how to embroider from her Grandma Cirner at a young age. After that she found sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, well you get the jist, LOL. She hasn't met a craft that she hasn't liked. Blogging was suggested by her youngest daughter, Colleen. At first it was a battle to get her to try it, but eventually Cyn started to enjoy the exercise. The blog on Cyn's website was limiting, so Colleen got her started with Wordpress. Hope you enjoy her Adventures with Creativity!
