Looking Shabby…..

Oh, it must be at least 10 years now, since Steven created the window seat in our living room.   It was a dead space next to the fireplace.  We tried every imaginable combination of furniture, zip-zero nothing worked.  Steven had an idea to put in a window style seating.  cornerbenchseat

To the right he built a floor to ceiling bookshelf, so it is a large built-in.  Our Weimaraner, Chewbacca, has claimed the window area for himself.  Thus the blanket for his use.  This area has become our coffee nook too.  We have coffee there most mornings and visit before our day begins and winter evenings to enjoy the fireplace.

The pillows were made at the same time as the bench.  They are definitely looking shabby these days and are in serious need of a makeover.  I crocheted them while I was babysitting my granddaughter Keegan.  Holy cow, she just turned eleven, so yeah they are over 10 years old. Lol.  Staying close to home does have it’s benefits right now.  I have an idea for the first pillow, March Madness is underway, so the timing is ripe to sit and be creative.

I am going to get this project underway, one pillow at a time……. Cyn

About designbycyn

Sonoma County, California ceramic enthusiasts Cyn and Steven Gradek have worked in the clay medium since 1996. They had a retail store where they held classes and provided the essentials for fellow ceramic enthusiasts. The business evolved into producing for other retail outlets and artist. Which quickly grew and they closed the retail storefront and concentrated on the wholesale business. With their 3 children raised and on their own, they had time to pursue their own creativity. Cyn learned how to embroider from her Grandma Cirner at a young age. After that she found sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, well you get the jist, LOL. She hasn't met a craft that she hasn't liked. Blogging was suggested by her youngest daughter, Colleen. At first it was a battle to get her to try it, but eventually Cyn started to enjoy the exercise. The blog on Cyn's website designbycyn.com was limiting, so Colleen got her started with Wordpress. Hope you enjoy her Adventures with Creativity!
