Paver Heaven…..

After some starts and sputters, we have finally gotten this long awaited patio almost finished!  We have lived with a dust bowl outside our back door for quite a while.  We live on a dirt road to begin with, so dust wasn’t as much an issue for us as it would be for most folks.  A funny bonus to covering all that dirt is, wait for it….. No more dog poop to dodge while traversing the back yard.  Wahooooooo!

Steven really has been on a mission to get this project done before we go on vacation.  I am amazed how far the 3 pallets of concrete have gotten him!  I think he said he will need maybe 15 to 20 more sacks to completely finish the patio.  I have long awaited the chance to go pot shopping.  Don’t go that direction!  I mean large pots to plant flowers in for the patio! lol.

There is a fabulous landscape/gardening center in Sacramento that our daughter, Colleen took me to.  Silverado Building Materials was like a candy store for me, lol.  I found 3 wonderful pots and many more plants to plant in them while visiting a few weeks ago.  You can probably spot one on the patio.

This is the far end of the yard, the fire pit is surrounded by chairs.  The pea gravel is in and oh so much more clean looking.

Here it is from the other side of the fire pit.

If you pivot 180 degrees, this is what is left to finish.  Just around the arbor and to the peeler core edging.  The terra cotta pots and bench can then be moved back into place and call it done!

The rock is installed in the lathe house too!  No more trudging through the mud puddles.  This exits towards the arbor  and the paving that still needs to be done.

All in all, I am so excited.  We are looking forward to a wonderful wedding reception in October.  Our vision for the patio will finally be completed and let me tell you…….  It has been so worth the wait!  Time to party….. Cyn

About designbycyn

Sonoma County, California ceramic enthusiasts Cyn and Steven Gradek have worked in the clay medium since 1996. They had a retail store where they held classes and provided the essentials for fellow ceramic enthusiasts. The business evolved into producing for other retail outlets and artist. Which quickly grew and they closed the retail storefront and concentrated on the wholesale business. With their 3 children raised and on their own, they had time to pursue their own creativity. Cyn learned how to embroider from her Grandma Cirner at a young age. After that she found sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, well you get the jist, LOL. She hasn't met a craft that she hasn't liked. Blogging was suggested by her youngest daughter, Colleen. At first it was a battle to get her to try it, but eventually Cyn started to enjoy the exercise. The blog on Cyn's website was limiting, so Colleen got her started with Wordpress. Hope you enjoy her Adventures with Creativity!
