It’s all in the timing…..

Those wonderful doors will be the backdrop in which the ceremony will be performed in front of.  We needed them to be a darker color due to the event tent being white.  Brown is such a rich, earthy, warm color. Always an outstanding partner to any fall floral arrangement.  Floral arrangement you might be asking yourself?

Well, yes I have grown all the flowers.  I have even planted a test garden to see how long from seed to bloom.  Crazy huh? Nah, desperation really, lol.  I need so many sunflowers and can’t afford to have them bloom too early or too late.  So, that was my solution and it has made me very happy to see that it is working!

Here they are, 4 boxes of just sunflowers in our garden.  There are a few early blooms, but the majority are just getting ready to bloom.  I plan to cut them and store them in buckets in our extra refrigerator in the garage.  I already have harvested our baby’s breath and they are patiently awaiting company.  I am still holding my breath, we’ve had a heat wave and I keep reminding them that it’s tooooooo early to push their blooms.  The chrysanthemums have been listening, they are excited to be included in the floral spray too.

Have you ever seen a freshly opened sunflower?  Oh my goodness, it is such a stunning treat.  Take a look…..

No words are special enough. Just over a week to go and counting….. Cyn

About designbycyn

Sonoma County, California ceramic enthusiasts Cyn and Steven Gradek have worked in the clay medium since 1996. They had a retail store where they held classes and provided the essentials for fellow ceramic enthusiasts. The business evolved into producing for other retail outlets and artist. Which quickly grew and they closed the retail storefront and concentrated on the wholesale business. With their 3 children raised and on their own, they had time to pursue their own creativity. Cyn learned how to embroider from her Grandma Cirner at a young age. After that she found sewing, cross stitching, crocheting, well you get the jist, LOL. She hasn't met a craft that she hasn't liked. Blogging was suggested by her youngest daughter, Colleen. At first it was a battle to get her to try it, but eventually Cyn started to enjoy the exercise. The blog on Cyn's website was limiting, so Colleen got her started with Wordpress. Hope you enjoy her Adventures with Creativity!
